About Greentyre
We supply a range of puncture proof tyres for wheelchairs, bicycles to industrial applications
Greentyres were invented in 1992 by the Company's founder and Chairman Colin Scarsi, as a solution to the problem of traditional rubber bicycle tyres going flat.
Greentyre overcame previous substitute technology by using modern polyurethanes derived from those commonly used in sports shoes to form a tyre of regular consistency that would never go flat. Existing centrifugal casting technology was honed by Greentyre to give high output manufacturing capability that has yet to be rivalled.
Greentyre's process is clean, non carcinogenic, is CFC free and releases no harmful toxins to the atmosphere. The products produced are long lasting, never fail and can be recycled making them truly earth friendly. Greentyre's commitment to the environment extends to the use of photo voltaic cells at the Middlesbrough production unit to convert the suns rays to electricity and the carbon footprint of operations is constantly monitored.
We are proud of our 50/50 ratio; where 50% of employees have been with the company for more than 50% of the life of the company since it started.
